Erie System Outage – Important Update

Please see below information from Erie Insurance regarding their network outage, along with some FAQ’s.
Rest assured that you are still protected by Erie Insurance and they are working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.

Erie Insurance Information Security Event

On Saturday, June 7, Erie Insurance’s Information Security team identified unusual network activity. Immediate action was taken to
safeguard systems and data. Since then, protective measures continue to be implemented.

Erie is working with law enforcement and leading cybersecurity experts to conduct a full forensic analysis.
The investigation remains ongoing and updates will be shared as available.

During this time, Erie Insurance will not contact customers by phone or email to request payments.
As always, avoid clicking links from unknown sources or sharing personal information.

Despite the outage, local agents, claims, and customer care teams remain active in supporting customers.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can I still make changes to my policy?
A: Please call our agency to report a policy change. We are tracking all requests and will process them once Erie’s systems are operational. Your current auto policy will extend to newly purchased vehicles.

Q: Will Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) payments be withdrawn during the outage?
A: No. EFT payments will not be withdrawn during the outage. More information will be provided when the issue is resolved.

Q: Can I still make a payment on my policy?
A: Erie is not currently accepting payments. If a payment is due, contact our agency and we will log your attempt and follow up once systems are operational. Do not provide payment info or click links during the outage.

Q: Will policies be cancelled for missed payments during the outage?
A: No. Policies will not be cancelled due to non-processing payments. Erie Family Life has also extended its grace period to 30 days.

Q: How do I file a claim?
A: Contact our office or call ERIE’s First Notice of Loss team at (800) 367-3743. Claims employees continue to work on existing and new claims during the outage.
